Meet the Founders

Founders' Story

Cami Flower was founded by Carl Lucien, Marie M. E. Lucien, and Laury C. Lucien. Carl and Marie are married. Laury is their daughter.

Carl and Michelle became U.S. citizens in 2023 so they could launch Cami Flower with their daughter. Carl and Michelle immigrated from Haiti as permanent residents in 2004. So, when the idea arose to start this business, they knew that they could not take part because they had permanent resident status and were not U.S. citizens. Because marijuana is still federally illegal, involvement in the cannabis industry would have created a risk of losing their permanent resident status and of being deported. So, with the help of an amazing immigration attorney and friend, Camila Valenzuela, Carl and Michelle obtained their citizenship and helped Laury to launch Cami Flower!

Cami Flower is named after Carl and Michelle. Ca- from Carl and -mi from Michelle makes the Cami in Cami Flower!

Laury obtained a bachelor’s degree in biology from UMass Amherst and a Juris Doctorate degree from Suffolk University Law School, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Laury spent over a decade studying various martial arts disciplines, religious doctrines, and spiritual philosophies. She attributes much of her success to the mindset that she cultivated from those disciplines, doctrines, and philosophies.

Shortly after graduating from UMass, Laury worked in Mass General Hospital’s Cancer Center, helping to conduct state-of-the-art cancer research. While there, she became interested in alternative forms of healing and began studying eastern philosophies and plant medicine. Laury believes that her involvement in the cannabis industry is part of her divine mission to bring wellness to this planet.
